HOW TO MEASURE THE LENGTH OF A LAWNMOWER BLADE
For the compatible blade selection, the most basic measurement is length.
Without a suitable length, the blade will not work properly. The too-long blade will not fit in the mower deck and a too short blade will not cut the grass completely.
Length should be measured correctly.
The length of the blade is measured diagonally, instead of straight. We measure the length from one tip of the blade to the opposite tip of the blade.
If we measure the length straightly it will give the wrong result. The reason is that mower blades are not regular, rectangular, and flat. They are like a parallelogram, narrow and deep at the center and broad and flat at the tips.
Mower blades come in a range of lengths, starting from 6 inches and go up to 32 inches.
HOW TO MEASURE THE WIDTH OF A LAWNMOWER BLADE
Width is measured simply from edge to edge. The measurement point should be the flattest and broadest part of the blade. It is usually taken from the point near the central hole.
The width of the mower blades can be 1.5 inches to 4.25 inches.
HOW TO MEASURE THE THICKNESS OF LAWN MOWER BLADE
Thickness is the same at all points. It can be measured at any point. Measurement is simple, from edge to edge.
Usually, thickness ranges from 1/10 inches to 1/3inches.
TYPES OF HOLES IN LAWN MOWER REPLACEMENT BLADES
Mower blades come with different types of center holes. You can select the blade according to your mower compatibility.
Some common types of center holes are the round, five-point star, six-point star, seven-point star, rounded rectangle, Y shape, and bow tie also called the H pattern.
5 point star holes have 5 points on them. They are also called ‘’5/8 star’’. 7-point star holes are also called ‘‘7/8 stars.’’

ROUND CENTER HOLE MEASUREMENT
We take the inner diameter for a round hole. Usually, the diameter of the blades is 1 inch. Blades with a variety of diameters are available.
STAR HOLE MEASUREMENT
5-point star, 6-point star, and 7-point star holes are represented by their names. We don’t have to measure them.
